Jim Jackson founded Electronic Realty Associates (ERA®), with the vision of utilizing the latest technology,then a fax machine,to provide the highest quality service. Being one of the first real estate offices to use fax machines and then connecting offices with a phone network, ERA® could transact business more efficiently and was a pioneer in communication.
ERA® started franchising and offered the first nationwide home warranty program. Jim proclaimed that ERA® Real Estate was founded on the principle of true collaboration, the idea that by working together and helping one another, a stronger community of real estate professionals could be built, while helping the surrounding local community.
David Young, our founder, desired to go into business for himself after toiling for an insurance company. Dave and his wife, Anne Young, our current president, moved back to Anne’s hometown in Glassboro and opened their real estate office, David Young Realtors.
Dave and Anne joined the ERA® franchise system and became ERA® David Young Realty. As a broker, Dave became a well-known great local Realtor®.
As business started to boom, Dave was diagnosed with cancer and died tragically a few months later. Anne, now a full-time teacher at Glassboro, took over and led ERA® David Young Realty into a golden era.
Cathy Swider, one of south jersey's top agents, led the area in sales and real estate was booming.
The Great Recession started, business plummeted, and unfortunately Cathy became ill and passed away.
Sales were at an all time low, many agents left, and David Young Realty was on the verge of going bankrupt and closing its doors.
Though there was hope, David Young Realty shifted focus to providing college rentals and listings with landlords and investors. Led by Anne Young’s nephew, Brian Eachus, he used his experiences studying and working at and with the neighboring college, Rowan University.
Brian graduated from Rowan with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration specializing in Management Information Systems. With a social and computer background, as well as working with real estate and finance, he decided to be a small business entrepreneur and focus more on the family business at David Young Realty instead of Corporate America.
Led by Anne, Brian, and Bob Bailey (our former broker),the renamed and rebranded ERA® Young became one of the top rental agencies not only in Glassboro, but in all of South Jersey. Brian & his team achieved the Platinum Level Circle of Excellence Award among all of New Jersey Realtors.
Brian moved back to the area and became the new broker. He spun off Young Rentals & Homes and started growing the property management and investment side of the business.
The pandemic hit Glassboro and ERA® Young and Young Rentals & Homes had one of their best years ever. Hundreds of properties were rented and managed, while many clients were satisfied, and the team succeeded.
ERA® Young and Young Rentals & Homes combined forces to form the new, Young Realty! Today, Brian is leading the company full steam ahead by growing, expanding services, and continuing his Uncle Dave's legacy!
